Community Outreach at SWE UW provides supplemental engineering and technology education to k-12 schools and two-year colleges with the goal of increasing female and underrepresented student participation in STEM.

We partner with middle schools, high schools, and two-year colleges to provide inclusive programs for students to get a head start in engineering and prepare for their futures.

Middle school

A spark of science today, a STEM degree in the future. The middle school outreach team hosts fun, interactive events for middle school students to see what it’s like being an engineer.

High school

Are your students ready for college? Partner with SWE to connect high school students with our mentors who can give tips on how to apply, share their work experience, talk about UW life, and so much more!

2-year college

Transferring to a four-year college is an investment to your future. We have SWE members who have gone through the transition and are willing to mentor two-year college students.

Get Involved

Teachers, bring SWE to your school

If your school doesn’t have a STEM program, SWE can help your students immerse in the world of science and tech through online classrooms. These virtual activities are led by our engineering students who are excited to share what they’re learning in college!

Contact us now and let’s get your school connected.

Help us bring STEM to more schools

Lots of Title I schools still don’t have the funding for a STEM program. With your support, more students from underrepresented communities have a chance to study STEM. If you are interested in making a donation to SWE UW*, please contact us directly at swe@uw.edu.

*We are a 501c(3) organization.
